Understanding Custom Pads

All American pad-transfer printing pads are available in several color-coded durometers. Hundreds of standard and custom molds are in stock, and custom pad development is one of our strengths. Our precision molds are produced in a new state-of-the-art laboratory, and all pad compounding is fully automated to ensure consistency. Molds for more than 1,000 different shapes and sizes are in stock and available for immediate use. Please be aware it takes 5 – 7 working days to produce these custom pads.

Choosing the Size and Shape

Pads come in a variety of shapes and sizes, below are some examples of standard pads. Generally, the pad with the steepest angle, hardest durometer, and the greatest mass will generate the best print quality. The pad should be at least 20-30% larger than the maximum image size required. Pad recommendations are readily available from our Technical Service Department.
